The kittens’ paws and heads were removed.

Officials believe the poaching incident took place last week on 60 Forest Service Road.

Wildlife poaching is a serious crime under British Columbia Wildlife Act, as it is illegal to kill cougar kittens – any cougar with spots or under the age of one – or cougar in a family unit.

“The killing of the cougar kittens shows a clear disregard for ethical hunting and wildlife conservation,” said Duncan Conservation Officer Mark Kissinger. “Fortunately, this is not the kind of crime we see often.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the 1-877-952-7277 hotline to report all poachers and contaminants.
