Queen ‘s flight was interrupted by a thunderstorm United Kingdom news

The Queen’s plane was forced to stop landing while traveling to Windsor before the platinum anniversary celebrations.

The pilot abandoned the landing at RAF Northolt in north London on the first attempt due to an electric storm, rain and hail, reports The Sun.

The 13-seat plane circled for about 15 minutes, while it was considered safe enough to make a second attempt to land, the newspaper added.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen’s flight was delayed due to a thunderstorm, all proper procedures were followed and there were no safety concerns.”

The flight landed safely, and the Queen was seen returning to Windsor later Tuesday.
