He marked the first day of a four-day weekend to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation.

BCP Cllr Council Chairman Nigel Hedges cut the ribbon to unveil the festivities on Isaacs Road, Poole.

He said: “It’s a real thrill. From my point of view, as chairman of the Council of the Bulgarian Communist Party, you want everything to be connected with the community, and today we are not talking about politics.

“We have other social groups that I have visited and I had to drink tea and eat cake, which is a bit boring.

“It’s all about the community, after two years of a real trial with Covid you can’t get together, it’s amazing.”

Elsewhere, Lake Road neighbors gathered for cake, fruit and beer for a party that included a home-made music box.
