Red arrows land at Bournemouth Airport

The red arrows landed at Bournemouth Airport in preparation for a full summer flight schedule.

Members of the public watched as the RAF aerobatics team (RAFAT), the Red Arrows, landed at the airport shortly after 3.30pm on Friday.

The pilots took off at about 3 p.m. from their base in Scampton.

Harry Edwards, William Mead and Jack Rawls were three Red Arrow fans to see the landing. The boys had been waiting in front of Bournemouth Airport since 11 a.m. for their arrival.

Harry said, “I’m a regular observer. I’ve been doing it for 11 years. I just really like the red arrows. ”

Alice and Vivian Miller also waited patiently for the landing. Alice said, “This is a chance to see them come to Bournemouth!”

The Red Arrows are due to leave Bournemouth Airport again at 5.50pm today, passing over Leamington at 5.7pm, before heading back to Bournemouth after being shown around 6.30pm.

They will also fly over the Isle of Wight for the Isle of Wight Festival.

The Military Airshows website has details on where they will go and when, and all times and routes are subject to change based on weather and other issues.

Of course, they will return for The Bournemouth Air Festival, which is scheduled to take place from Thursday, September 1, to Sunday, September 4.
