Ofcom has already been banned from licensing RT’s broadcasting license in the United Kingdom after being the subject of repeated complaints of breaches of its license.

Russia’s foreign ministry has taken a tougher line with diplomats from liberal democracies in recent weeks, in part in response to the expulsion of large numbers of Russian diplomats from Europe.

The United Kingdom was one of the few Western diplomats that has not expelled Russian diplomats in the past two months, but has been at the forefront of countries imposing sanctions on oligarchs.
