Ryan Giggs will retire forever as manager of Wales

Ryan Giggs will step down as manager of Wales. Giggs has been on leave since November 2020 and faces a domestic violence trial in Manchester on August 8.

The 48-year-old former Manchester United star has been charged with controlling and coercing her ex-girlfriend Kate Greville between August 2017 and November 2020.

Giggs is also charged with assaulting Ms. Greville, causing actual bodily harm, and the usual assault on her younger sister Emma Greville at his home in Worsley, Greater Manchester, on November 1, 2020.

Giggs denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Robert Page led Wales to their first World Cup in 64 years in the absence of Giggs. Paige will be in charge of Qatar and Giggs will retire in the coming days.

The Wales Football Association declined to comment, but the news agency was told that Giggs was “agonizing” by the decision.

Understandably, Giggs did not want his situation to act as a distraction as Wales prepared for its first appearance in the 1958 World Cup finals.

Giggs, who was appointed manager of Wales in January 2018, decided to step down after Wales beat Ukraine in the final of the World Cup playoffs in Cardiff two weeks ago.
