Samsung introduced its 200MP ISCOCELL HP1 camera sensor last September, but we haven’t seen a device that includes a massive sensor yet. That may change in July with the upcoming Motorola phone, and Samsung has released a video describing the capabilities of the sensor.
The purpose of the video is to show the amount of detail that the HP1 sensor can retain. Although no phone was used to demonstrate the new sensor, we saw it connected to the Frankenstein platform complete with a test board, an external display and an additional lens, which allowed a group of Samsung engineers to take some detailed pictures of cats.
The last 200 MPs were then printed on an industrial printer. The end result? Canvas measuring 28 x 22 meters, consisting of twelve separate pieces 2.3 meters long, which were sewn together and hung from a building. Of course, the actual photo was optimized and corrected by behind-the-scenes photographers. The great statement is that you can enlarge and crop images without losing detail.
ISOCELL HP1 pixel collection
Samsung’s HP1 sensor offers a completely new pixel collection technology called ChamelonCell, which can group up to sixteen pixels in different resolutions, ranging from 12.5MP photos with 2.56μm pixel pitch to 50MP photos (1.28μm pixels) ) or naturally at 200μm0 (200μm0). pixels) depending on your needs.
