SAN ANTONIO – A man is in custody and is accused of killing another man at his home in the Southwest Side in September 2021.
Sebastian Hernandez, 20, is accused of fatally stabbing Christopher Olivares at his home on Block 300 in Kirk Place, according to San Antonio police.
Initially, officers were called to the deceased’s home. When they arrived, they found Olivarez dead on a lawn, with no sign of the suspect.
Olivares underwent an autopsy, which later revealed to investigators that he had died as a result of being stabbed.
The reward increased to $ 17,000 in the case of the murder of Christopher Olivares
Officers cleaned his house, where the door was open and there were bloody traces shortly after the incident.
Police said they were looking for a suspect or other potential victims inside, but found neither.
When the homicide investigators arrived on the scene, they found several surveillance cameras and a Ring door camera. After reviewing some of the footage, they noticed that an unknown man had appeared repeatedly, but were unable to identify him.

Police and Crime Stoppers have released some of the videos to the public in hopes of advice that could help identify the stranger.
One of the videos shows a man walking in the backyard of Olivares’ home talking on a cell phone. The video was recorded 11 days before Olivares was stabbed.
SAPD released two other videos from the day of the crime, which show a man leaving home and driving away in a 2014 Olivares car, a white Lexus with four doors.
The car was found abandoned a few days after the crime, outside the city limits, according to police.
Only recently did the police receive reliable information that contained the name of the man – Hernandez.
Detectives contacted Hernandez and he agreed to come to the office, give a statement and provide a DNA sample.

However, at that time the police did not have enough evidence to detain him, so Hernandez was released.
Police said the DNA sample was sent to laboratories, but later returned as a coincidence with forensic evidence found at the crime scene and on the murder weapon – a knife.
Detectives received an arrest warrant for Hernandez, which was signed by a judge on Wednesday. He was later arrested at his home in central San Antonio.
Hernandez was known to Olivares, according to police. He was charged with murder and taken to Bexar County Jail late Wednesday.
We will provide more details about this story when it becomes available.
