Sarah Palin is among three candidates running in Alaska’s special election in August to take a seat on the US House of Representatives, which remained open after Don Young’s death.
Young, a Republican, served for 49 years before dying in March at the age of 88.

With 132,730 votes counted, Palin has 28.3%, followed by Republican Nick Begic with 19.3% and independent Al Gross with 12.8%. Democrat Mary Peltola had 8.7% and Republican Tara Sweeney had 5.5%.
The top four will qualify for the special elections, which will include a voter-approved voting system approved in 2020.
The winner will serve until January, the end of Young’s term.
SARA PALIN SAYS HE’S READY FOR MEDIA PRESS IF HE CHOOSES HER FOR CONGRESS: “I HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE”
Saturday’s certification of the results was called into question last weekend due to a court dispute that ballot papers were discriminated against against visually impaired voters, but the state’s Supreme Court ruled that certification could continue.

THE OFFER FOR PALIN’S HOUSE COMES AFTER THE MEETING WITH THURMP
Palin, who was approved by former President Trump, was the Republican vice presidential candidate in 2008 on the ticket of the late Senator John McCain and has been governor of Alaska since 2006, until he resigned in 2009.
Gross claims that Palin “left Alaska” in favor of “cheap fame”, but Palin said she left the post due to pressure from requests for records and complaints about ethics, which she said were frivolous and distracting.

I look forward to the special general election so that we can highlight our ideas for fixing our country through the responsible development of Alaska’s God-given natural resources, managing fleeing government spending, protecting human life, protecting the right to hold and carry of arms and restoring respect for individual freedom and the Constitution, “Palin wrote in a statement posted on Twitter last weekend, when she was ahead of the vote.
Begic comes from a prominent democratic family in Alaska.
