Kiesza invaded the scene in 2014 with his passionate hit “Hideaway”, which has since garnered over a billion streams; the accompanying one-off video is on several lists of the best of the decade. Her debut studio album Sound Of A Woman saw her top charts worldwide and moved over a million copies. Top musicians soon rushed to work with her, and the emerging Canadian talent was soon considered part of releases such as Skrillex, Diplo, Duran Duran and Joey Bada $$, to name a few. THE BAHAMAS WITH RUBY WATERS – July 6, doors open at 18:00, show at 19:00, TD Mainstage, Besborough Gardens. Earthtones, 2018 Grammy nominees, have seen the Bahamas join forces with bassist Pino Paladino and drummer James Gadson (the rhythm section behind D’Angelo’s Black Messiah) and even merge them with their longtime Kimmel heavyweight musicians. FRONT RHYTHMS: 35 YEARS OF JAZZ, COMMUNITY AND ENTERTAINMENT FT. SASKATOON JAZZ ORCHESTRA – July 7, doors open at 18:00, show at 19:00, TD Mainstage, Bessborough Gardens. Led by Dean McNeill, the Saskatchewan Jazz Orchestra (SJO) is proud to help celebrate the 35th anniversary of the SaskTel Jazz Festival with this one-off gala concert featuring home-grown SK talent from many generations! Confirmed performers include Ted Warren (drums), Juno Award winner John Ballantyne (piano), Al Muerhead (trumpet), Juno Award winner Mike Rudd (guitar), Ross Ulmer (trombone), Sheldon Corbett (saxophone), Barry Redford (trumpet)), Mark DeJong (Sax), plus a whole host of new and upcoming SK-based musical talents. The repertoire for this concert will include excerpts from the Western Canadian Music Awards nominee CD of the Regina Jazz Society “The Saskatchewan Suite: The Story of Us”, composed by Fred Stride, and “Saskatchewan Suite”, composed by award-winning pianist Juno / composer Oliver Jones.
