Scott Bailey is charged with assault

An Edmonton police officer has been charged with assault following an off-duty incident earlier this year.

Const. Scott Bailey, a six-year member, was charged with assault causing bodily harm following a Feb. 20 incident.

“Non-life threatening injuries were reported by the complainant at the time and both parties know each other,” EPS said.

Bailey was arrested on the day of the incident following an investigation by the EPS Domestic Crime Unit and was released on bail.

“He was on leave at the time of the incident and has remained on leave ever since. His service status is currently under review,” the EPS added.

Bailey played in the NHL for the Boston Bruins in the 1990s.
