While inland highs hover in the 30s for weeks, campfires remain permitted across the province.

In a tweet Friday, the British Columbia Wildfire Service said none of the province’s six regional fire centers had reached the threshold where a campfire ban was needed.

“Many factors are taken into account when assessing bushfire danger and deciding whether to implement or lift an open fire ban, including current and forecast weather conditions, the availability of firefighting resources and the build-up index,” says BCWS.
