Mohammed Tarus Khan, 52, of Thornbury Road, has been remanded in custody to appear at Bradford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Saturday, July 9).
An 81-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with the 20-year-old’s death has been released on police bail.
A two-week search for Somaya ended in tragedy on Wednesday after a body was found on Fitzwilliam Street.
The 20-year-old was last seen at her Binney Street home on Saturday June 25 at 2pm and was reported missing 24 hours later.
Despite appeals, there have been no confirmed sightings or contact of her.
Officials can now officially confirm that the body found on July 6 is Ms Begum.
There are police inspections throughout the area.
Officers cordoned off an industrial estate in Thornbury Road, Laisterdyke, two weeks ago, while police vans remained in Binnie Street, Barkerend.
