A crazy scene on a Spirit Airlines flight – the plane catches fire, passengers see and smell the smoke and head for the exits… until the calm and collected flight attendants tell them, “Please stay seated.”
The passenger plane landed Sunday morning at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and a fire started around the landing gear. As you can imagine, once some passengers noticed… panic set in and they jumped to evacuate — but the crew immediately turned them back.

Several flight attendants were on the public address system telling passengers to return to their seats and leave the aisles clear. They said there is no need to evacuate at this time.
It’s easy for them to say, and they’d certainly know better – but you totally understand why the passengers wanted to escape.
As they say during these safety demonstrations — while most of us are frantically texting at the last second instead of paying attention — always follow the crew’s instructions.
In this case, the Spirit flight attendants were able to remain calm and everyone got off the plane safely after it was towed to the gate.
Spirit says the fire started when the plane’s brakes overheated.
