Steve Sargsyan moved all in to bring Arch Manning to Texas

Steve Sargsyan moved all in to land Arch Manning.

That’s according to Nelson Stewart, Manning’s coach at Isidore Newman in New Orleans, where the quarterback is a rising senior. Earlier this week, Manning announced he would take his game to Texas.

“I think he belongs here,” Stewart told the Austin American-Statesman.

Stewart attributed to Sargsyan, who became a coach in Texas in early 2021, that he maintained frequent communication over the past few years, and quarterback coach AJ Milwee to form a stable relationship with the quarterback.

“Of course, recruiting him is like no other,” Stewart said. “For the past, like seven years, it was a second job. But he’s a wonderful young man who just does things the right way, he’s a great teammate, “said Stewart. “It’s crazy that the first Zoom I used during the pandemic was Sark. AJ was setting up the computer and it was like, “Hey, how are you guys?” Here they are!

“Sark, he’s all-in,” he continued. “And I know a lot of people said it was crazy, but I just had a good feeling. I’ve talked to AJ Millie more in the last two years than my wife.

Arch Manning is Cooper’s son, nephew of Ellie and Peyton and grandson of Archie. He has a strong, precise hand, as well as an attribute that is not fully owned by his famous uncles: mobility.

Any football coach in America would walk from where he lives to Cafe du Monde to attract young Manning, but Texas beat Alabama, Georgia and several other major contenders in the end.

Texas and Oklahoma will move from the Big 12 to the SEC in 2025, when Manning will be a junior.

Manning did not speak publicly about his motives for his decision; his only communication on the issue was his message on social media. He joined Twitter in February, but Thursday’s post was the only tweet he ever posted.

It is hard to believe that NIL’s rights were not a factor in the decision. Coaches don’t have to coordinate money directly for approval, but there is a lot of wealth in the Texas fan base between alumni and other supporters.

The reality is that Manning could make a mint wherever he went, but outside Texas seems to have the capacity to produce the largest NIL deals in the aggregate.
