A total of 16 fire engines were sent to the scene from across Suffolk, as well as an engine from Colchester.

An update from Suffolk County Council just before 3pm said the fire had reached one to two square miles.

A shutdown message was sent out at 3.44pm with the number of engines at the scene reduced.

The incident is the latest wildfire to break out in Suffolk in the past 10 days, with the fire service declaring a major incident last Tuesday due to the high number of calls.
