In a previous video, she said she was denied boarding from her Ryanair flight to Ibiza after incorrectly counting how many months her passport remained.

She then had to drive to try to get an emergency passport, but was rejected – so she could not fly – while her other friends came out.

Modina explained in her video: “I booked Ibiza just two weeks before I took off.

“My passport expires on August 14, and my vacation was from June 9 to June 14, so by the time I returned, I still had three months in my passport,” I thought.

“Because I counted June, July and August – but you have to count July, August, September. So I was out for a whole month.”

She added that she believes she has a “valid passport” and does not want to try to renew it, as she will not return on time due to a delayed application.

Modina continued: “If I had given my old passport, I could not have taken off on these dates because I knew there were no emergency appointments and I had to go through the normal way of doing so.

“It was annoying, but I booked it because I thought my passport would be valid when I returned to England.”

People in the comments also explained how she made the mistake.

One person wrote: “Two months. From June 14 to July 14, 1 month, from July 14 to August 14, 1 month. Do not count June, July and August.”

Others were less polite: “Yes, it’s 100% your fault. Taking 5 minutes to think about things would really help. It doesn’t matter, you live and study properly!”

The new rules have been in place since the UK left the EU, although many may not be aware of them due to the pandemic that stopped travel.

Britons must have at least three months in their passport to enter European countries.

Not only this rule, the British must check their passports.

The start date – or “issue date” – is the next thing you should check in your passport to avoid last-minute chaos.

This is because the new rules no longer allow Britons to have passports with more than 10 years left.

Previously, passport holders in the United Kingdom could transfer up to nine months from their previous documents – they are no longer valid, which means that the expiry date may not be the actual expiry date.

Instead, you need to make sure the start date is 10 years or less when you travel.

As early as November, a mother was banned from her flight after being told that her passport was outdated – even though it was not.

And a woman lost on her dream vacation of £ 2,600 due to confusion about the validity of her passport.

If you need to renew your passport, this can be done online for £ 75.50 or via a paper application form available at the post office for £ 85.
