Support is available for the first responders to a fatal crash near Bishop’s Falls

The first respondents to attend the site of a horrific fatal crash on the Trans-Canadian Highway this week said they were behaving.

A head-on collision Wednesday night involving two heavily laden tractor trailers claimed the lives of both drivers and caused a fire that engulfed both vehicles.

The fire services of Grand Falls-Windsor and Bishop’s Falls responded to the scene.

Bishop Falls Fire Chief Gary Harnham says its members have access to support if needed.

He says they have teams in all local fire departments that members have access to if needed. In their own fire department, they have two priests available to help.
