A suspected gunman was arrested early Friday just hours after a triple shooting at the Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip, killing one man and seriously injuring two women, according to cops.
“Suspect identified, located and arrested! And all within six hours of the incident,” Capt. Dory Coren of the Vegas Police Department’s homicide unit tweeted.
“No such thing as getting away with murder in #Vegas!” he wrote with a series of hashtags praising the force’s “ruthless” work.
The captain told KLAS earlier that the gunman fled the room after shooting the three others who were there with him, sending the storied hotel into lockdown.
“The victims and the suspect knew each other,” the force also tweeted late Thursday, insisting it “was an isolated incident.”
The man who was shot is believed to be in his 40s or 50s, cops told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The two women were taken to University Medicine in critical condition, the publication reported.
As of early Friday, neither the victims nor the arrested suspect had been identified.
“We take all types of extreme violence in our city very seriously,” Koren told KLAS.

A spokesman for MGM Resorts International, which operates the Mirage, referred questions to police, the Review-Journal said.
