Suspect found after shooting in Langham prompts emergency alert

The initial call was made at 7:40 Friday morning when RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in the city northwest of Saskatoon. The suspect has been identified as Justin Heimbecker.

The alert was canceled at 12:05 p.m., and police believe there is no further risk to public safety and the shelter-in-place order has been lifted.

According to Korman Park police, Heimbecker was found shortly before noon Friday and is no longer a threat to the public.

The local police service provided support to the RCMP but could not share further details about the incident.

In a media release, RCMP said a man was found by officers deceased at a home in Langham around 11:40 a.m. The home had been on fire earlier in the day. The deceased is believed to be Justin Heimbecker, but this cannot be confirmed at this time
