Three people were taken to hospital in critical condition on Monday afternoon after a taxi jumped off the sidewalk in Manhattan’s Flatyron neighborhood and hit several pedestrians, authorities said.
At around 1pm, according to the fire department, the vehicle crashed into a building near 29th Street and Broadway, an area full of bars, restaurants and hotels.
The taxi is still at the scene around 2:30 pm, and the police department is clarifying the reasons for the accident.
The most seriously injured were taken to Bellevue Hospital.
