A teenager accused of killing 10-year-old Lily Peters lured her from a pedestrian path in a Wisconsin woodland where he allegedly killed her – before returning to the crime scene to better hide her body, new people say court documents.
The 14-year-old suspect told police he drove his hoverboard to Lily on a trail with the intent to sexually assault her and kill her late last month, according to a criminal complaint released Friday.
He asked Lily to leave a trail with him to explore the forest, and continued to attack her, the complaint said. He was “scared” and left the scene, but later returned to cover the girl’s body with leaves.
Lily was reported missing on April 24 after failing to return from a visit to her aunt’s house in Chippewa Falls. Searchers found her body the next morning.
Authorities confirmed in a preliminary autopsy that she died of blunt force trauma and strangulation. A final report is expected within 4-6 weeks after the completion of the toxicological tests.
The alleged killer was arrested on April 27 and charged with premeditated murder, first-degree sexual assault and first-degree sexual assault on a child under the age of 13 in the death of Iliana “Lily” Peters.
The 14-year-old suspect reportedly admitted to covering Lily Peters’ body with leaves. Authorities at Chipeva Falls Police Department say Lily Peters suffered strangulation and violent trauma. Chipeva Falls Police Department
