Shooting at a Texas Elementary School: Live from Uwalde, Texas
Nineteen children and two adults were killed after an active shooter was reported at Rob Elementary School in Uwalde, Texas, authorities said. The shooter also died, according to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
The striker is identified as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos. Mr Abbott said Ramos “horribly and incomprehensibly” carried out the mass shooting himself before being shot dead by law enforcement.
Ramos is a student at Uwalde High School, who lives in the small town 130 km (80 miles) west of San Antonio, according to Mr. Abbott.
President Biden told the nation it was time to “turn this pain into action” and change gun laws after the shooting massacre.
“Why are we ready to live with this carnage?” He told the White House. “Where, for God’s sake, our backbone is, to have the courage to deal with it and face it [gun] the lobby? “
The shooting caused the school to block. The students were transported to St. Willie Delon City Center, where they will reunite with their parents.

Sarah Sanders cites Texas shootings to push Republicans’ anti-abortion agenda
Sarah Sanders, who won the Republican nomination for governor of Arkansas on Tuesday, cited the fatal shooting of at least 19 children at a Texas elementary school as “a vivid and reassuring reminder of how precious life is.”
“Every life has value, and the most vulnerable among us must be those for whom we fight and defend the most,” Ms. Sanders said.
“I can assure you that this is exactly what we will do in my administration. We will make sure that when the child is in the womb, it is as safe as it is in the classroom, at work, in the nursing home, because every stage of life has value. ”

The NBA-Warriors coach is calling for gun control
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr has called for tighter gun control following the shooting at a school in Texas.
A visibly shaken Kerr, who is in favor of stricter gun laws, said he would not discuss the final game of the Warriors’ Eastern Conference against the Dallas Mavericks.
“All basketball issues don’t matter …” he told reporters. “In the last 10 days, we’ve had black adults killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we’ve had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California.
We now have children killed at school. When will we do something? I am so tired of getting up here and offering my condolences to the devastated families who are there.

He also criticized lawmakers for blocking efforts to advance arms control measures.
“Do you realize that 90 percent of Americans, regardless of political party, want checks on the past, universal checks?” 90 percent of us, “Kerr said.
“We are hostages of 50 senators in Washington who refuse to even put him to the vote, despite what we, the American people, want. They will not vote for it because they want to keep their own power. “

The Texas Attorney General is calling for teachers to be armed
Just hours after a school shooting claimed at least 15 lives in Texas, the state’s attorney general called for what he said was the only possible solution: arming teachers.
“The reality is that we don’t have the resources to have law enforcement in every school,” said Attorney General Ken Paxton. “It takes time for law enforcement agencies, no matter how prepared they are, no matter how good they are, to get there. So having the right training for some of these people at school is the best hope. ”
