The A351 reopened after a fire broke out in Furzebrook Heath in Wareham, disrupting bus and road services.
The A351 to Swanage closed between Warham and Corfu Castle, around 3pm this afternoon, and has reopened ever since.
A Morebus spokesman said: “As of 16.07, the A351 is now open, please expect delays while traffic is dispersed.
“30/35/40 will now continue the normal line of the route in both directions. We apologize for the inconvenience. ”
During the fire, a spokesman for the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are dealing with a fire in Stoboro and the A351 next to Swansea is currently closed.
“The incident is under control, so we hope the road will be reopened soon. Apologies for any inconvenience. ”
The bus company Morebus issued a statement saying they expected “major disruptions”.
A Morebus spokesman said: “Services 30/35/40: Due to a fire in Furzebrook Heath A351 is CLOSED between Wareham and Corfe Castle.
“Due to the nature of the roads in the area, there are no bus deviations available. Please expect major interference. ”
