Observers were seen enjoying the routine as Prince George sang with Neil Diamond’s classics. However, viewers watching the show on Twitter were confused as to why Rod performed a cover when he has such a strong back catalog of his own songs.
Savage said, “So … Rod Stewart’s entire catalog and he (or someone quite high) chooses #SweetCaroline #PlatinumPartyatthePalace.”
Jupiter commented: “Rod Stewart 50 years hits and he is forced to sing the sweet Caroline”
Philip posted, “If they wanted #SweetCaroline, why did they ask #RodStewart and not invite #NeilDiamond?”
Susanna said, “Poor Rod. I know Sweet Caroline should have made the audience move, but he has a better catalog. Why he had to sing someone else’s song – he should do it.”
Jeff said: “Why is #RodStewart doing a cover of #SweetCaroline?
Alfonso posted: “Why @rodstewart sang Sweet Caroline? Why not Sailing?”
