GEM COUNTY (KIVI TV) – The body of Everett Jackson, a 21-year-old Louisiana man who went missing on the Payet River, has been found, according to a press release from the Jem County Sheriff’s Office.
The Jem County Sheriff’s Office said the body was found by a volunteer Sunday afternoon about two miles downstream in the Payet River in the area where Jackson was last seen. He was identified by his family.

The one-week search includes volunteers and responders. Jem County Sheriff Donnie Under said the search for Jackson’s body was complicated by the high water flow and dangerous conditions on the Payet River.

Jackson disappeared on Saturday, June 11, after a witness said he saw him fall off a pipe, go underwater and not swim up the Payet River in Emmett, Idaho, according to the office of the Jem County Sheriff’s Office.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this very difficult time,” said Sheriff Wunder. “We are grateful to all the emergency workers and volunteers who made this recovery possible.
