A body was found in the bushes near a primary school, police confirmed. The discovery sparked a large police presence on Wednesday afternoon, June 8, in Bellevue Park, near St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Wrexham.

The area was cordoned off for several hours while an investigation was under way. Police have now confirmed that a body was found in the bushes in the park, NorthWalesLive reports.

Inspector Luke Hughes of the North Wales Police said: “There was some policing today in the St Mary’s / Bellevue Park area. I can confirm that around 11:26 a.m. today, June 8, officers responded to a report of a body found at the site.

“A police cordon was initially established, but early indications do not suggest suspicious circumstances. The body has now been discovered and is about to be identified. “

He added that police “do not believe the deceased has anything to do with the school”. North Wales police issued an earlier statement saying there was no risk or threat to the public or students.

A spokesman for the Wales ambulance added: “We were called today (Wednesday, June 8) at 11.30 am for an incident on Leah Road, Wrexham. We sent an ambulance and an on-duty operational manager to the scene, but we were stopped by the police.
