The North American premiere of “Jurassic World: Dominion” officially ended in Los Angeles and the first reactions of the dinosaur-oriented sequel flooded online, with the authors of the entertainment calling the aftermath everything from a good hit of nostalgia to a bad one. As with most sequels in the Jurassic series, the Dominion was met with a mixed response.
Universal positioned Dominion as the finale of the franchise, organizing a gathering of old and new Jurassic stars. The film brings together Sam Neil, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, all of whom starred in the 1993 Steven Spielberg original. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are back after starring in Jurassic World in 2015 and Jurassic World: The Fallen. Kingdom ”from 2018, while newcomers to the series Dewanda Wise and Mamudu Ati also join the cast of the new record.
The Dominion began after the events of The Fallen Kingdom, with dinosaurs now roaming the Earth, forcing the human race to maintain its position as the world’s top predator. Jurassic World director Colin Trevor is back to direct the series’ finale.
Although Jurassic World: Dominion won’t hit North American theaters until Friday, Universal has already given limited global distribution to the sequel in 15 international markets. The sequel grossed $ 55.4 million at the International Boxing Office over the weekend, with its biggest starts coming from Mexico and Korea.
Variety Jazz senior art editor Jazz Tangcay praised the film, calling it a “fun adventure.” Tangkai also said that dinosaurs “are bigger and better than ever.”
#jurassicworlddominion is a big, wild fun adventure. Dinosaurs are bigger and better than ever. This is a continuous action of the dinosaur. And the return of Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neil hit nostalgic places. i just love them. pic.twitter.com/Z7kvy3SkpO

Variety Awards Editor-in-Chief Clayton Davis called the film “nostalgia for overdrive”, while concealing his true view of the sequel under his preliminary conclusion that “he will make so much money”.
Let’s face it – it doesn’t matter what I say about #JurasicWorldDominion – it will make so much money. This is contrary to logic. This is a movie where things just happen and people know things “because” – smoke a joint, get drunk and spend the time of your life. Nostalgia for overdrive. pic.twitter.com/eD7hViPYSd

Variety critic and contributor Courtney Howard summed up her reaction to BAD, saying Dominion had the worst franchise in terms of quality.
#JurasicWorldDominion = BAD. He ignores the premise he should have had from the beginning, instead of synthetically designing 2 completely different, uninteresting and hollow stories that he tries to connect. Some effects look polished, some rope. The worst of the franchise. pic.twitter.com/0xbyUR6O9d

Ian Sandwell of Digital Spy called the film “irresistible for the finale”, although he highlighted the collection of the characters of Neil, Dern and Goldblum as a strength of the film.
It provides the show you’ve come to expect, but #JurasicWorldDominion feels overwhelming for the finale as you set foot on familiar ground. It’s nice to see the OG trio and their thread is the strongest, even if it unknowingly emphasizes how soft JW’s characters are compared. pic.twitter.com/IT2yXfhMFY

Collider’s Perry Nemiroff dug into the sequel, highlighting Bryce Dallas Howard’s performance as a highlight of the film.
#JurasicWorldDominion creates a great combination of practical and digital effects. Dino looks GREAT. The scene with Dimetrodon is … right in my alley. Bryce Dallas Howard is running away with the film – and a new trilogy on the subject. Claire experiences a great rainbow and Howard rises with it. pic.twitter.com/5qWYkddi9e

Kirsten Akuna of Insider recommends that you review the original Jurassic Park before releasing Dominion.
#JurasicWorldDominion is best when the old and the new cast are together. Franchise fans should enjoy this. Many nods to OG. I would recommend that you review it carefully. pic.twitter.com/WfRSqzsM81

Gizmodo and io9 senior reporter Germain Lucier called the film “too condescending and pointless,” with dinosaurs serving as more than “window-shaping” a few grim storylines.
Indeed, the Jurassic World Dominion is bad. Very bad. It’s too long, wildly repetitive, and dinosaurs are showcases for many uninteresting, unrelated stories. The actors do their best, but everything is too condescending and pointless. One of, if not the worst in the franchise.

#JurasicWorldDominion is absolutely awful. It’s like a bunch of hot shots that you thought of walking in a dinosaur theme park and you put them in a movie. Bugs are more pronounced than dinosaurs. Omission on all fronts with failed ethics. Save your hard-earned money. 🤦🏻♀️

My reaction after leaving #JurasicWorldDominion is that this is the worst movie in the franchise that I adore. It’s too long, the action sequences are ugly and it’s generally too bloated. Then I smiled again at nostalgic beats and baby dinosaurs as much as, that too? pic.twitter.com/BA1J4uFOMD

GOOD NEWS: #JurasicWorldDominion is my favorite movie from the new Jurassic trilogy. It’s full of exciting encounters with dinosaurs and much more Jeff Goldblum, but it also has a great balance of scary and inventive scenarios with some choices targeting what it was before. A solid finale. pic.twitter.com/G6bMCDUecL

It does not bring me any joy to announce that #JurasicWorldDominion is a MASSIVE disappointment. Although the film includes some amazing dinosaur series and it’s great to see the original cast back on the big screen, the film fails to achieve what previous films promise. pic.twitter.com/AsGoqMsrSf

Honestly, I’m still just sick of dinosaurs. #JurasicWorldDominion
