The heat comes when thunderstorm warnings end in GTA

It is now hot and foggy in much of the GTA as Environment Canada lifts thunderstorm warnings for Toronto, Halton Peel and York-Durham.

This morning, the Canadian Meteorological Agency warned that the region could expect conditions conducive to the development of severe thunderstorms, including heavy hailstorms the size of nickel and heavy local rainfall.

This line of strong thunderstorms, moving southeast at 50 kilometers per hour, ran from Aurora to Sandhill. Affected areas include: Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, King City, Woodbridge, Wildfield, Malton, Kleinburg, Maple, Concord, Oak Ridges, Thornhill, Gormley and Unionville.
