The big apple will be baked this weekend.
A heat wave will hit the city, with temperatures expected to reach nearly 90 degrees on Sunday, according to meteorologists.
The city will begin to boil on Saturday afternoon when temperatures rise to a high of 88 degrees – followed by a high of 89 degrees on Sunday, according to Fox Weather meteorologist Samantha Thomas.
“It gets hotter the deeper you go, so if you want to avoid the heat, go to the beach,” Thomas told The Post.
“This may be the first 90-degree day in a year, and this first day is a rough awakening. So act very slowly, drink plenty of water and don’t forget to wear sunscreen. ”
The summer-like heat will cool until Sunday night, when a thunderstorm is likely to strike and destroy the heat, Thomas said.
