The department said one of the arrests was for “resisting arrest by an executive officer”, alleging that a 23-year-old woman tried to take an officer’s baton.
This woman was identified as Juliana Bernado.
The other detainee was identified as 30-year-old Michael Ortiz. He is charged with attempted murder, according to the LAPD.
The department said Ortiz was responsible for an officer’s injuries after being hit by a makeshift flamethrower.
