As suspected, the first phone from Nothing – the new company of Carl Pei – will go all in in the transparent form of the widget. This seems to be Nothing’s design aesthetic, in line with last year’s wireless headphones (1).
According to video clips from an event at the Art Basel event where the phone was unveiled (inside a box), segments on the back of the phone will even light up. It may be a decorative gimmick, but Nothing’s story requires a deliberate choice of design – so it’s probably about news or something else I can’t imagine this early in the morning.
For now, the company is keeping the finer specifications (and important details such as prices and availability) secret, but Nothing says it will reveal everything in July.

Nreal users can now play some Steam games on their augmented reality glasses. The beta version of Steam on Nreal gives users a way to stream games from their computer to their AR glasses. Nreal acknowledges that installing the beta will require little effort to set up, and the current version is not yet optimized for all Steam games. However, it will work on both Nreal Light and Nreal Air models and already supports some popular games, including the Halo series.

He is appealing a decision confirming the 2018 agreement.
Musk has appealed against a judge’s decision not to release him from an agreement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which requires him to get lawyers to review some of his tweets.
Musk’s pact with the SEC stems from a scandalous incident in 2018, in which he tweeted that he “provided funding” to make Tesla a private company, although it is claimed that this is not the case. The SEC has filed securities fraud charges against Musk, who did not delete the tweet in question nearly four years later.

TikTok’s rival is clearly raising viewers for full-length videos as well.
YouTube has hinted that the Shorts are doing well, but it’s clear what that means. The company says its mini-video service already has more than 1.5 billion active, logged-in monthly users. Impressively, Arch-nemesis TikTok gained 1 billion users per month by September 2021, although it has lasted significantly longer – and served as a very obvious inspiration for Shorts.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has released its first batch of data on semi-autonomous driving technology. The agency linked 392 crashes to partial self-driving and driver assistance systems in the 10 months between July 1, 2021 and May 15, 2022. About 70 percent of them – 273 – are Tesla vehicles using autopilot or beta Full Self-Driving. Honda cars were involved in 90 accidents, while Subaru models were involved in 10.
