Victoria County RCMP investigators have contacted the owner of an unregistered boat found in Lake Brass d’Or near the Seal Island Bridge on Friday, according to a press release issued Saturday afternoon.
The 5.5-meter Starcraft aluminum boat was found in the village of New Harris without an outboard attached and bearing the hull identification number PLX13287K708.
Police responded to a call at 8:20 p.m. Friday and learned that no one had been spotted on the boat or in the area, an earlier press release said.
Authorities were concerned that the boat was occupied at the time it sank and were engaged in searching the area.
The search of the area has since ceased.
