The RCMP is investigating suspicious fires in a cold-water shelter

Police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed a shelter to heat the West Bank.

On May 18, police received a report of a fire in the area of ​​the Whale Back Nordic ski club in Cold Brook. Officers arrived and found that the Pentagon’s lunch stop had collapsed and was on fire – the structure was a complete loss.

From the RCMP to Bay St. George says the investigation is ongoing and is asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.

Theft of a generator

Meanwhile, police are investigating a burglary, entry and theft from a cabin also located in Cold Brook.

They say a number of items, including a 3,000-watt Honda generator, have been stolen in the past six weeks.

It is unknown at this time whether the incidents were related.
