The Strathmore RCMP is investigating a reported child abduction in the southern city of Alberta.
Police said in a statement that the female woman had been found and was now safe.
The girl was returning home from her school bus at around 3pm on Tuesday, police said when two men in white pickups approached her.
“It is reported that the young man was forced to get into the truck and taken to a home,” the statement said.
“The victim managed to escape and escape to safety.”
The RCMP said the girl was found by a family member around 5:30 p.m., who then called police. The girl was taken to Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary.
Police are investigating the incident “as a matter of priority”, but investigators “do not have a clear description of the suspect (s) or vehicle”.
“I fully appreciate that this incident can be both disturbing and disturbing. “Our squad has increased patrols and visibility in our communities,” said a staff sergeant. Mark Vielgos.
“Our priority is to ensure public safety and to conduct a thorough investigation. We are also taking steps to support the victim in this matter.”
Stratmore is about 53 kilometers east of Calgary.
