As the Star Wars celebration continues in Anaheim, it’s not just Star Wars fans who are getting information. The audience has just been shown a brand new trailer for Willow, the upcoming Disney + series, which will be a sequel to the favorite 1988 fantasy film starring Warwick Davis. Now get ready to return to the world of Willow’s genuine fantasy world.
In the trailer, you will see Davis reprise his role as the titular Willow, a wizard who (in the original film) sought to protect the prophesied child destined to become empress. In this epic trailer, portraying Davis as an already rebellious hermit wizard (sounds a little familiar), a brave group of ragged adventurers try to persuade Willow to help them regain balance in their world. It is now being confirmed that this is not an adaptation or remake, but a sequel to Willow’s original film, which features the same character.
The series Willow will also follow a new character, Princess Keith (played by Ruby Cruz), as she tries to save her twin brother. Erin Keliman (Solo and the Falcon and the Winter Soldier) and Amar Chada-Patel also participate as ambitious warriors and petty thieves, respectively, who agree to help Keith save the prince. Willow will also play Eli Bumber as a “kitchen maid,” as well as Tony Revollori and Dempsey Brick.
Davis offered this behind-the-scenes visit with the cast last year, creating a wildly charming and delightful little film before the show’s release. It was not known during this game whether Davis would return to Willow’s world. (Of course, we now know that he is at the center of the series.)
Willow is expected to be released on November 30, 2022 at Disney +.
