Mary Mara, an actress known for her roles in “Ambulance” and “Ray Donovan,” has died, her manager Craig Dorfman said in a statement to CNN. She was 61.
“Mary was one of the best actresses I’ve ever met,” Dorfman said. “I still remember seeing her on stage in 1992 at Crazy Forest near Broadway. She was electric, funny and a real person. Everyone loved her. I’ll miss”.
According to a press release from the New York state police, the officers answered a call on Sunday around 8:10 am local time for “possible drowning”. Firefighters and an ambulance arrived at the scene on Cape Vincent and “found a dead woman in the St. Lawrence River,” the statement said.
“The preliminary investigation suggests that the victim drowned while swimming,” police said.
There are no signs of bad actions, police added in a statement. The Jefferson County Court is expected to perform an autopsy to determine the official cause of death, according to police.
Mara had a list of credits that covered television and film, including roles in several episodes of shows such as Dexter, Practice, and Star Trek: Enterprise. She was perhaps best known for her roles in “Our Bridges,” “Ambulance,” and “Ray Donovan.”
Mara’s film credits include “Mr. Saturday Night” and “Love Potion №9.” Her last credit was for the 2020 film Break Even.
