The Taste of the Danforth in Toronto was officially canceled this year

After some confusion about whether Taste of the Danforth will take place this year, the favorite street festival has been officially canceled for 2022.

BIA Greektown announced on its social media pages that this year’s event will be postponed to 2023.

“The board of directors of GreekTown in the Danfort Business Improvement Area has identified the best way to ensure the long-term success of the festival is to postpone its restart until 2023,” the statement said.

The lively street festival attracts over 1 million people during its weekend, full of traditional Greek and Mediterranean food, music, dance and activities.

“We know that planning an event of this magnitude and scale will take time. During the winter months, it was unclear whether public health conditions would allow the Taste of the Danforth to take place. Once it became clear that we could, we just didn’t have time to imagine the Taste of the Danforth for 2022, given the changes in the street landscape. “

Greektown BIA will take this extra time to create a bigger and better street festival for 2023, working closely with the city and its partners to make the return of the festival the best it can be.

Although the street festival will not take place this year, BIA still invites everyone to visit the neighborhood to enjoy the lively courtyard stage, which will also be filled with live music.

Taste of the Danforth was to take over Greektown from August 5 to 7.

There is no additional information about the festival, but it is scheduled to take place sometime in the summer of 2023.
