A domestic Vancouver cat named Tiger is making TikTok headlines to win a match with a black bear much bigger than him.
Gavin and Cameron Sturrock are rarely worried about the behavior of their two-year-old Bengal cat.
The tiger is known for restraining dogs in their Canyon Heights neighborhood, sparring with his feline brother Taz – even stealing chicken from the family kitchen.

“I was literally just frozen,” Cameron Friday recalled.
Gavin said he was carrying two boxes of Nerf pistols and guards from the house in preparation for Nerf War Camping when he was caught in a battle on his alley.
A large black bear he had seen before had returned.
“I didn’t notice right away, but my little cat was just like that – he was right here,” Gavin said.
And the Tiger was not afraid.

With the Tiger in pursuit, the animal escaped through their backyard and has not returned since.
Not bad for a cat, say the brothers, after they have already cheated on death.
“He had this disease called FIP, feline infectious peritonitis,” Gavin said.
“It’s basically a death sentence.”
With drugs and injections, Gavin said Tiger had managed to defeat the viral disease.
