Classic YA novel Eragon may be coming to Disney+: The streamer is in the early stages of developing a TV series based on the Inheritance Cycle books by Christopher Paolini, our sister company Variety reports.
Eragon is the first part of a four-part novel series that tells the story of a farm boy named Eragon who discovers a dragon’s egg. When King Galbatorix learns of the egg, he sends his servants to retrieve it, forcing Eragon and the dragon Saphira to flee their hometown with a storyteller named Brom, who is part of an extinct group called the Dragon Riders.
Paolini will serve as co-writer of the potential TV series, which will mark the second adaptation attempt after the 2006 film starring Ed Spellers (as Eragon), Rachel Weisz (as the voice of Saphira), Jeremy Irons (as Brom) and John Malkovich (as Galbatorix).

* Peacock has released a trailer for The Undeclared War, a cyberthriller from Peter Kosminski (The State) and starring Mark Rylance (Wolf Hall), Simon Pegg (Truth Seekers), Adrian Lester (Riviera), Alex Jennings (TV’s Four Weddings and a Funeral) , Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Legends of Tomorrow), Hannah Hallick-Brown (BBC’s Doctors). All six episodes are out on Thursday, August 18:
