The Twitter case against Elon Musk: Five key takeaways

After months of public criticism from Elon Musk of Twitter, the social media company hit back hard Tuesday with a lawsuit seeking to enforce the billionaire’s $44 billion deal to buy it.

The lawsuit, filed in Delaware Chancery Court, is Twitter’s most complete rebuttal to Mr. Musk’s complaints, which culminated in his lawyer telling the company on Friday that he intended to walk away from the deal, which was concluded with Twitter’s board of directors 74 days earlier. Twitter’s lawyers also made a number of their own allegations about the conduct of Mr. Musk, Tesla’s chief executive, before and after the April 25 deal.
