A storm system that just finished traveling across the prairies earlier in the week made its way to southern Ontario on Wednesday. The warmth during the day was suitable for the cold front to build up energy and produce thunderstorms, rain, strong winds and rotating storms.
Thunderstorms lead to both tornado watches and warnings for many parts of southern Ontario late afternoon and evening.
Strong winds and even a possible tornado caused tree damage, while heavy rains led to localized flooding. The Weather Network’s Mark Robinson tracked the storm on the ground and documented the formation and movement as it moved toward the countryside.
