A broader view of the forecast continues below:

NORTHEASTERN OTTARIO: HEAVY STORM FROM TUESDAY TUESDAY

An extended time limit remained covered in northern Ontario, bringing rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday day.

Much of northern Ontario will be threatened by a thunderstorm, and communities north and east of Lake Superior will appear to be the most favorable for severe weather conditions as the cold front passes through hot and humid air masses.

Strong winds, heavy hail and torrential rain will be the main threats with storms that are developing, with some storms likely to spin.

During the night, thunderstorms will continue as they move southeast through central and eastern Ontario and western Quebec. Depending on the strength of the storms at night and how quickly they move out of the region, some thunderstorms can become severe in eastern Ontario.

SOUTH ONTARIO: THE LAST DAY OF MAY BRINGS HIGH HEAT AND HUMIDITY

A strong high-pressure ridge anchored over the Midwestern United States was responsible for introducing summer heat from the Gulf of Mexico earlier this week.

Heat warnings and special weather forecasts are in effect for southern Ontario, including Windsor, Leamington and Chatham-Kent. Maximum temperatures in these areas could range from low to mid-30s on Tuesday.

Humidex readings will be from the mid to 30s to the south, accompanied by lots of sunlight and high UV rays, so be prepared for sun protection if you go out.

On Tuesday there will be more heat, which will spread to the northern regions with ubiquitous temperatures of 30 ° C. Similar sensation values can be expected, with even higher readings for some locals, while they will also be felt in northern Ontario.

“These conditions pose a health risk when you are not used to the heat,” the Canadian Department of Environment and Climate Change said in a special weather statement covering the south. “Everyone is at risk of heat, especially the elderly; infants and young children; and people with chronic diseases.

To fight the heat, residents are urged to drink plenty of cool liquids before they feel thirsty and cool off by dressing for the weather and spending more time in a cool place.

Although the heat will spread to the northern regions on Tuesday, the easternmost parts of Quebec’s border will feel the effects of the sharp temperature limit as cooler air tries to return, but the ridge will not move much.

So, as a result, a significant temperature contrast is expected, ranging from the low 20s to nearly 30 ° C over a fairly short distance – with Ottawa still sitting in the top 20s.

Enjoy the heat while it lasts, because temperatures will drop after Wednesday. Temperatures will remain warm on Wednesday, but will fall below the 30-degree mark and humidity will remain.

LOOK AHEAD: OPPORTUNITIES FOR A THUNDERSTORM AND COOLING TEMPERATURES MAY START

The Cold Front is expected to cross the region late Wednesday with a period of rain and thunderstorms. There may be strong to strong storms with locally very heavy rainfall, strong wind and hail.

Much cooler weather will appear behind the front on Thursday.

In addition, temperatures will be close to or slightly below seasonal over the weekend and most of next week. After the current heat wave, no hot weather is expected for the next two weeks. Weather forecasters see the potential for the model to become more turbulent next week.
