The White House is preparing for a change of staff, as several aides plan to leave in the coming months as the midterm elections approach.
The most famous departure will be spokeswoman Jen Psaki, who is expected to leave in the coming weeks to join MSNBC. Several other members of the White House are expected to leave, sources told Reuters.
It is standard for senior White House officials to warn staff long before the midterm and presidential elections that they must leave with enough time to prepare or stay until the end of the election, according to a Reuters report. But it is unclear whether Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klein, issued such a note.

He will also leave Cedric Richmond, a member of the Louisiana Democratic Chamber who serves as director of the White House’s Office of Public Engagement. He will take on the role of senior adviser in the National Committee of the Democratic Party, where he will help raise funds and broadcast the party’s message.
“There are few people who are better able to help us continue to build on our successes and pass on our message as we move toward the midterm elections,” said DNC President Jamie Harrison. “We look forward to Cedric joining our already strong team as we continue to work closely with the White House and our sister committees to protect and expand our democratic majorities. The Democratic Party is all-in and leaves nothing to chance. . “
In a statement, Richmond said he was “excited that the President has entrusted me with helping to strengthen the stable work already being done in the DNC to make sure Democrats increase their majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate and increase the number of democratic governors in state capitals across the country. “
Psaki told reporters Monday that Richmond would be leaving for a “new important role” at some point in the future, and that this was “something the president is excited about and asked him to do.”
Psaki’s deputy chief spokeswoman, Karin Jean-Pierre, is considered a leading contender to move to her post after she leaves, sources told Reuters.

Anita Dunn, who left the Biden administration last July after serving as public relations adviser, will return to the White House after leaving to return to her communications firm.
