This Dark Souls Remastered VR mod makes Lordran’s fantasy world feel REAL

Hot on the heels of its Elden Ring REAL VR mod, the flat screen to VR modern Luke Ross returns with a new update that brings third and first person, 6DoF VR in Dark Souls Remastered.

I followed the fashion in his footsteps in this week’s episode of VR Corner (below) and was amazed at how well it worked. The performance issues that caused Elden Ring VR to get rid of even the most powerful devices do not exist here, and for me the game runs at an oil-smooth 160 frames per second while I was in VR.

People familiar with previous versions of the Flat Screen to VR hatch will know that its REAL VR mods use a technique called alternate eye imaging to create a 3D image. At a lower frame rate, this causes a noticeable flicker in the visualization, something that was especially common in his mods Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077 VR. Dark Souls Remastered on the other hand is a much more stable game and this allows it to run at full frame rate at any time.

As usual, Luke’s Dark Souls Remastered VR mode does not include motion controller support, so you’ll need to play the game with a standard controller. The mode also includes a built-in menu that allows you to quickly change views and camera positions, change the speed of the game and even switch to “tourism mode”, which makes you invisible to enemies.

Dark Souls Remastered’s first-person VR game certainly looks amazing, but it makes the battle almost impossible. Fortunately, the optional “tourist mode” of fashion means that you can enjoy the views without battles.

Warning, however, this mode will not work with older / discontinued editions of Dark Souls such as Prepare to Die. If you want to try out Luke’s fashion for yourself (and you should, because it’s amazing!), Make sure you have Dark Souls Remastered installed from 2018.

As always, you can find all REAL VR mods of Luke on his Patreon page.
