Three people were stabbed several times in the home of North Saanic

All three were taken to hospital and are in serious condition. He is a suspect in custody.

Three people are in critical condition after each was stabbed several times during what police called a volatile situation Friday at a home in North Saanic.

RCMP Sydney-North Saanich was warned by a call to 911, which said many people were injured by a man who is still at the residence in the 10,000 block of Derrick Road in North Saanich.

Police forcibly entered the home and found three people who had been stabbed repeatedly, the RCMP said on Saturday.

The man, who is believed to be responsible, was at the scene and was arrested without incident, police said. “Responsible officials relied on their de-escalation training and skills to detain this very agitated and violent person.

“I am grateful that all the first responders acted professionally to bring this very volatile situation to a safe end,” said Capt. Andres Sanchez, spokesman for the Sydney-North Saanich RCMP.

The RCMP provided emergency first aid to the victims, while the scene was determined to be safe enough for paramedics to enter the BC Ambulance.

The injuries of all three victims were serious enough to take them to hospital. They are expected to survive their injuries.

All three are in serious but stable condition as of Saturday afternoon, police said.

There is no danger to society and at this stage of the investigation it is believed that the arrested person is known to the victims and that this is an isolated incident, police said.

The man detained on the spot remains in custody.

Derrick Road is in the Deep Cove area of ​​North Saanich. Block 10000 consists of larger single-family properties with half an acre to the west and a five-acre property with a house on the east side of the road. The area is mostly forested and the property is valued at more than $ 1 million.
