Earlier in the day, after taking part in a master class talk at the 1,000-seat Debussy Theater, he received another tribute before the screening, led by festival director Thierry Fremo. In honor of his long career at the center of international pop culture, Thierry made remarks (in French) and presented a 13-minute videotape showing every entry in Tom’s filmography.

Thierry surprised Tom once again when he announced that the festival was awarding Tom Cruise the Palme d’Or. He was almost speechless and responded with a “wow.” He then witnessed another round of applause after the announcement, which was not a regular affair at all.

At the screening, Tom walked the red carpet in a black suit and joined Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and colleagues Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, John Ham, Glen Powell, Jay Ellis, Greg Danire Ramirez. and Louis Pullman.

Among Indian stars, Puja Hegde and TV actress Heli Shah walked the red carpet while attending a screening of the film in designer ensembles.
