Environment Canada issued a tornado warning Saturday for the rural municipality of Rockwood, including the towns of Teulon, Stonewall and Stony Mountain.
The warning was lifted around 7:20pm CT and replaced with a severe thunderstorm warning.
The Weather and Climate Agency is warning people to take the necessary precautions.
Earlier Saturday, he issued storm watches, including potential tornado warnings, for parts of west-central Manitoba. It urged people to be prepared for the worst.
“This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation,” the weather agency said in a statement.
Strong thunderstorms are expected to develop that can spawn tornadoes, as well as golf ball sized hail and strong wind gusts. He has issued numerous severe thunderstorm warnings for central Manitoba as well as parts south of Winnipeg.
People in these areas should take shelter immediately if threatening weather approaches, Environment Canada says.
Public weather alerts can be tracked on Environment Canada’s website.
