The 27-year-old Bijo was struggling to start the 2022 season, scoring just 0.043 with one goal and two runs in 28 appearances. Biggio has started nine of his 16 Blue Jays games and has split time with Santiago Espinal in second base.

In 252 MLB career games, Biggio has a sloping .230 / .350 / .398 line with 31 home runs, 103 RBIs and 23 stolen bases.

Francis, 26, has a 4.11 ERA in three appearances with Buffalo this season.

Outfielder Theoscar Hernandez (inclined) is expected to practice live cotton in the next few days, Atkins added. He could return soon after if he fails. Catcher Danny Jansen is behind Hernandez’s chronology and is involved in baseball activities, but has not progressed to swinging a bat.
