Residents were evacuated from two condominiums after a construction crew discovered a high-pressure gas leak in Toronto.
The accident happened around 10 a.m. Tuesday near Blue Jays Way and Wellington Street.
The affected gas line, which Toronto police said “exploded,” is located in an alley behind a restaurant and supplies gas to a building under construction.
There are currently no reports of casualties.
As a precaution, residents of two apartment buildings at 250 and 270 Wellington Street were evacuated, the Toronto Fire Department told CP24. The TTC brought in buses to provide shelter to those directly affected.

The Toronto Fire Department is advising residents of other buildings in the immediate vicinity to “shelter in place.”
Police have also restricted access to roads near the leak.
Enbridge crews are now working on site to stop the leak, which the Toronto Fire Department says “does not appear to be a gas leak into surrounding buildings.”
This is developing news. There is more.
